Event Description:

Infusions Workshop presented by Small Batch Kitchens

6:00pm, May 22, 2018

Highland Orchards is excited to host an Infusions Workshop presented by Small Batch Kitchens! This workshop will be held on May 22nd from 6-8pm. Infusions are an easy way to quickly preserve fresh herbs and fruits in the height of their season. Additionally, you are left with a flavorful product that can then be used to add an extra kick of fresh flavor to salad dressings, marinades, and cocktails!

At this class, guests will learn everything they need to know to safely infuse vinegar, alcohol, or simple syrup and learn about the safety concerns regarding infusing oils.

Sheila Rhodes, founder and owner of Small Batch Kitchen - a small food preserving company that specializes in low-sugar, all-natural fruit and herb spreads - will discuss her favorite way to quickly preserve fruit.

Guests will learn the basics of infusing vinegar, alcohol, and simple syrup, how to create custom flavor combinations, and how to use your finished infused product. We'll also sample some pre-made infusions.

Additionally, everyone will make and take home their own infused creation (either infused vodka or vinegar) with Highland Orchard strawberries, rhubarb, and fresh herbs!

$5 Student discount available after providing Student ID at workshop.
