Event Description:

Gem Mining Tour

10:00am, October 28, 2019

Farm Visit Includes:

Gem Mining Activity: Students will learn that rocks and minerals are a non- living material found in the ground. Students will get their hands wet by panning their “pay dirt” in our Gemstone Sluice. They will take their treasures they find back to the classroom to identify the rocks and gems as a class.

After the Gem Mining Activity is complete, students will have the rest of the time to visit the farm under the supervision of their teacher or parent chaperone.

Visit Pinehaven Animals: Feed and pet a variety of sheep, goats, donkeys, cows, and even see our emu and peacocks!

Pumpkin: Everyone will hop aboard our tractor pulled trolley out to the field and hand pick their very own pie pumpkin to take home. **1 Pie pumpkin is included in the price of tour.

Have Fun on the Farm: Play on a variety of play grounds, a jumping pillow and giant slides!

Lunch: Students may bring a lunch and eat as a group. We have a picnic area for the whole group to sit and enjoy lunch or a snack on the farm.

We recommend allowing 1 1/2 hours for your visit and an additional 30 minutes for lunch.
