Apple Lesson & Orchard Experience

10:30am, September 27, 2018

Our Staff Educators know all about apple growing. They will teach about the importance of bees for pollination, how to pick apples, and other farm information appropriate for the developmental level of your classroom. The children will be taken into the Apple Education Barn classroom for a 15-minute lesson. Afterwards, as they are led into the orchard, they will be able to see a variety of apple picking and sorting equipment. In the orchard you and the children will see first-hand how apples grow and watcch as the children pick their own apples. Each child will pick and take home a small bag of apples and a small pumpkin. Allow 30 to 40 minutes for the lesson and orchard experience. Although parents are not allowed in the classroom or orchard, they will be able to share time as you tour the rest of the Pumpkin Patch.
